American Literature

Welcome to American Literature! This is a one semester course that introduces student to a variety of literature from America's past to the present. The literature read in class will be pulled from songs, essays, correspondences, poems, short stories, and classic novels. With each unit we will explore authors, their works, as well as their style and genre. As we read each piece, we will investigate both culture and history and how they influence each author and his or her work.
